 WAPDA Notification of Revised Rates Shift Allowance BPS-01 to BPS-16. Shift allowance is an important component of the salary structure of employees. It is paid to employees who work on shifts, and it compensates them for the inconvenience of working outside normal business hours. Recently, WAPDA has revised the shift allowance rates for employees in BPS-01 to BPS-16.

New Revised Rates of Shift Allowance

The revised rates of shift allowance for employees in BPS-01 to BPS-16 are as follows:

• For day shift: PKR 50 per day
• For night shift: PKR 100 per night

These rates are effective from March 1, 2023, and they will be applicable to all WAPDA employees in BPS-01 to BPS-16 who are entitled to shift allowance.

Revision in Shift Allowance

Developmental Authority approves revised shift allowance. This allowance is allotted to subcategories as under:

1. Security Staff
2. Hydel Power Houses
3. Ac Plant
4. Telephone Exchange Staff.

Implications of the Revised Rates

The revised rates of shift allowance will have a significant impact on the take-home pay of WAPDA employees in BPS-01 to BPS-16. For example, an employee who works five night shifts in a month will now receive PKR 500 in shift allowance, as compared to PKR 250 under the old rates.

This staff works to:

1. Install, maintain, repair, and service heating.
2. Manage ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
3. Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment.
4. Use and operate equipment and tools used in maintaining HVAC equipment in a safe and effective manner.
